Orange County Ponds

Orange County Ponds

TRU Landscape Services was called out to Orange to install a pond. Orange is a city in Orange County, California. Other cities that surround Orange are Villa Park, Anaheim Hills, and Santa Ana. This customer had called us out for a estimate originally for a pond. There are many different types of ponds available to choose from in Orange County. After seeing the property and talking to the customer, we decide on a Pondless waterfall. A Pondless waterfall is a type of pond that uses a catch basin to store the water underground. This holding tank has a pump installed inside of it, which pumps the water up to the top of the waterfalls. The customer already has a pool in their back yard. They didn’t want another body of water to worry about their grandchildren falling into. This was the main factor behind choosing to install a Pondless waterfall. The second reason was they didn’t want a lot of maintenance. All ponds do have some minor maintenance, but a Pondless waterfall has very little maintenance at all. Orange County doesn’t get cold enough during the winter to freeze the water, so no need to drain it during the winter. Another great thing about Pondless waterfalls is the water is constantly being cleaned by the rocks and gravel we use to build the waterfalls. There will always be debris to clean up, but most gardeners can take care of this problem. One of the customers concerns was about the water level getting too low and burning up the pump. We like to install a auto water filler in our ponds. When the water reaches a certain level a valve will turn on the water for a short time to replenish the reservoir. This customer already had a outdoor drain system in their back yard, so we installed a drain line into the water reservoir. If the water level rises too high from rain it will allow the water to drain out through the pipes.

Orange County Water Features

TRU Landscape Services has been installing ponds in Orange County for 20 years. We work with our suppliers to constantly be updated on the newest techniques and materials available. Orange County has a great climate to grow plants from all over the world. We can provide all of your water plants along with your bedding plants. One of the most common questions we receive from our customers is do ponds waste water?  It is true,  you will lose some water through evaporation and water splashing around on the waterfalls, but this water usage is a lot less water if you were to landscape this same area. The Pondless waterfalls are children friendly. All of the water is held under ground, so there is no way for a child to fall in the water. However,  you will want to watch them so they don’t start throwing rocks from your new waterfall. We can use all types of materials to build you a Pondless water feature. We have used wooded barrels, Fountainscapes and vases for a few examples. Rain harvesting systems are getting popular in other parts of the world. Orange County receives such little rain fall that it hasn’t become real popular. TRU Landscape Services can build your dream pond, whatever type you choose. We build garden ponds, Koi ponds and Pondless water features. Water features always become the focal point of your garden area. Let us design the right water feature for your landscape and budget.

Orange County Astro Turf

Orange County Astro Turf

TRU Landscape Services was contacted by a customer today. This customer lives in Anaheim Hills. The city of Anaheim Hills is located in Orange County, California. Yorba Linda is a city that borders Anaheim Hills along with the city of Orange. Our customer wanted a estimate on Synthetic Turf in their back yard. The customer was asking normal questions about our Synthetic Turf, but they were referring to the Synthetic Turf as Astro Turf. Lets get the record straight, Astro Turf is a brand name of a company that makes turf. There are many people who confuse the short outdoor patio rug (Astro Turf) with the modern day Synthetic Turf. We call Synthetic Turf many different name such as, Artificial Turf, Water-less Grass, Fake Grass and just Turf. But we never call it Astro Turf. Driving through Orange County you can see many people trying to use Astro Turf for their yards. It doesn’t last very long in the direct sun light. It was made for indoor patios or outdoor patios with covers on top of them. There are many steps that we take before installing Synthetic Turf. If you skip one of these steps you will see a difference in the final product. Which leads to the picture below. This picture is what not to do!

Artificial Turf Orange County

The Artificial Turf we install has a eight year manufacture warranty. On completion of our jobs we provide our customer a copy of the warranty. TRU Landscape Services is a licensed contractor with the state of California. We have a C27 Landscape Contractor license #894221. Did you know that unlicensed complaints are up 33 percent in California? We have liability insurance and workers comp insurance. These insurances that we carry protect our customers. TRU Landscape Services is a certified installer for Synthetic Turf. We have been approached in the past to teach Artificial Turf classes. These classes teach other contractors how to install Synthetic Turf properly. We have been hired by cities to consult on the Synthetic Turf installation techniques. One city hired us to teach their public workers, how to install Synthetic Turf. Synthetic Turf is so new that many different techniques are used to install it. We take into mind that Synthetic Turf is going to last up to 30 years. This is many years of exposure to the elements. One company was using a bender board for their edges. How long will a small piece of wood last out in the elements? Not to mention all of the foot traffic. We use plastic in all of our borders. Plastic has been proven to last. We have installed hundreds of Synthetic Turf jobs in Orange County. Call us out for a free estimate, and we’ll show you the difference in our install techniques. When your having a product installed that could last up to 30 years, don’t hire a company that will take short cuts. TRU Landscape Services has been out on repairs that could not be fixed. We had to remove the Turf and start over from the beginning. We couldn’t use the same turf over. The other company had cut the turf to short, so we had to use new turf all together. Why not just add a small piece of  new turf ? Synthetic Turf comes in different Dye lots on each roll. There is a good chance you would see a slight difference in the old turf and the new turf. TRU Landscape provides competitive pricing. Plus we use the highest quality materials on all of our installs.
