TRU Landscape Services just finished a landscape project in Anaheim. The city of Anaheim is surrounded by the cities of Yorba Linda and Orange. Disneyland is located in the city of Anaheim. Our project was to install sprinklers, concrete curb and low water plants. We gave the customer an estimate and went over some ideas with them. Shortly after that they hired us to landscape their front yard. The customer wanted a dry river running through their front yard. TRU Landscape Services thought that a concrete curb would be the best application to outline the dry river bed.

Bobcat Orange County

The area in which we were landscaping had a huge mound of dirt. This mound was causing the water to run towards the house. This wasn’t good, we were surprised that the house didn’t have water damage. So on the first day of work we took our Bobcat and removed the dirt down to a level grade. We did leave a little pitch on the yard so that the water would drain forward away from the house. After removing the dirt we installed the sprinklers. For this project we installed Rain bird 4” 1800 series. We installed all new pipes and fittings. TRU Landscape Services has been performing landscape projects for over 25 years in Orange County.

Landscape Borders

After finishing the first day we came back on the second day and installed a concrete curb for the dry river bed. We prefer using this style of landscape border. Being made out of  concrete the curb should last for many years of enjoyment.  After finishing the border we installed a landscape fabric to block future weeds from growing. Next we placed the boulders in place.

Low Water Plants

On the final day we installed the gravel down the dry river. Next we installed all of the plants. This area could have been installed with grass, but by installing low water plants, this customer will save hundreds of dollars on water. Not to mention that these plants won’t need to be trimmed or cleaned but for a couple times a year. Orange County Astro Turf

TRU Landscape Services was contacted by a customer today. This customer lives in Anaheim Hills. The city of Anaheim Hills is located in Orange County, California. Yorba Linda is a city that borders Anaheim Hills along with the city of Orange. Our customer wanted a estimate on Synthetic Turf in their back yard. The customer was asking normal questions about our Synthetic Turf, but they were referring to the Synthetic Turf as Astro Turf. Lets get the record straight, Astro Turf is a brand name of a company that makes turf. There are many people who confuse the short outdoor patio rug (Astro Turf) with the modern day Synthetic Turf. We call Synthetic Turf many different name such as, Artificial Turf, Water-less Grass, Fake Grass and just Turf. But we never call it Astro Turf. Driving through Orange County you can see many people trying to use Astro Turf for their yards. It doesn’t last very long in the direct sun light. It was made for indoor patios or outdoor patios with covers on top of them. There are many steps that we take before installing Synthetic Turf. If you skip one of these steps you will see a difference in the final product. Which leads to the picture below. This picture is what not to do!

Artificial Turf Orange County

The Artificial Turf we install has a eight year manufacture warranty. On completion of our jobs we provide our customer a copy of the warranty. TRU Landscape Services is a licensed contractor with the state of California. We have a C27 Landscape Contractor license #894221. Did you know that unlicensed complaints are up 33 percent in California? We have liability insurance and workers comp insurance. These insurances that we carry protect our customers. TRU Landscape Services is a certified installer for Synthetic Turf. We have been approached in the past to teach Artificial Turf classes. These classes teach other contractors how to install Synthetic Turf properly. We have been hired by cities to consult on the Synthetic Turf installation techniques. One city hired us to teach their public workers, how to install Synthetic Turf. Synthetic Turf is so new that many different techniques are used to install it. We take into mind that Synthetic Turf is going to last up to 30 years. This is many years of exposure to the elements. One company was using a bender board for their edges. How long will a small piece of wood last out in the elements? Not to mention all of the foot traffic. We use plastic in all of our borders. Plastic has been proven to last. Why not just add a small piece of  new turf ? Synthetic Turf comes in different Dye lots on each roll. There is a good chance you would see a slight difference in the old turf and the new turf.
